Who We Are

Dignity Health East Valley Rehabilitation Hospital is a state-of-the-art, 50-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital dedicated to the treatment and recovery of individuals who have experienced the debilitating effects of a severe injury or illness.

Our rehabilitation programs provide ongoing care and specialized treatment to patients throughout their recovery journey. We offer customized, individualized rehabilitation tailored to the specific needs of those recovering from a stroke, brain injury, neurological conditions, trauma, spinal cord injury, amputation, and orthopedic injury.

We strive to maximize the health, function, and quality of life of those we serve through comprehensive physical medicine and rehabilitation programs.

For those acute patients who qualify, research shows inpatient rehabilitation hospitals are an effective setting for:

  • Increasing independence in mobility, transfers, and activity of daily living skills
  • Going home quickly
  • Short lengths of stay
  • Receiving daily physician and nurse attention
  • Minimizing hospital readmission

Distinguishing Features of Inpatient Rehabilitation:

  • Daily accessible physician specially trained in rehab
  • Low patient-to-rehab nurse ratio goal: 5-7 patients to one rehab nurse
  • Individualized therapy with short lengths of stay
  • Transfer to an inpatient rehabilitation hospital does not require full three-day stay at a short-term acute care hospital
  • 15 hours/week of therapy required

Principles of Behavior

At all of Dignity Health's facilities, we don't just care for patients. We care about people.

We are proud to be more than just healthcare providers. Each team member is an ambassador of Dignity Health, promoting healing and wholeness throughout our community. By demonstrating dignity and respect in every interaction we have with a patient, a family member, a doctor and each other, we are given the opportunity to positively influence people's lives each and every day. The principles outlined below illustrate the behaviors and policies that define what it truly means to be a member of the Dignity Health family.

We understand that what is important to us is also important to others, which is why we strive to exceed expectations through teamwork and innovation. Our mission is to help our patients return to what matters most - enjoying life.
